Hazardous waste is a category of waste subject to additional handling, storage and disposal restrictions as specified in the U.S. EPA and NYS Department of Environmental Conservation regulations. Hazardous wastes, which can be generated from laboratory activities, are regulated at the "point of generation" and require special handling and disposal considerations.
